Bill Weathersby

Chief Executive Officer

 Bill has more than 25 years of global operational experience as an enterprise executive in both the private and publicly traded markets and has been involved in over 20 corporate transactions in the last 12 years. Bill has extensive experience in conducting business in Europe and Asia and has served as the COO for those regions in his last two positions. Bill’s extensive experience in the global natural gas production, transportation, trading and risk management industry provides an excellent background for addressing the increasingly problematic issue of waste water associated with todays energy exploration and production environment.

 

D. Lamar Miller

Chief Financial Officer

Lamar brings more than 20 years of financial and commodity risk control experience to EWS primarily in the energy industry with publicly traded Fortune 500 companies.  Lamar has held various executive roles including both corporate and operational segment assignments in finance, strategy, operations, corporate/business development, treasury and investor relations.  His experience in the energy marketing and trading includes implementing the control structures for both domestic and international trading segments.  Lamar has been associated with a number of corporate transactions over his career including the sale of NorAm Industries to Houston Lightening and Power, $650 million equity raise with ONEOK INC as well as leading ONEOK’s corporate development efforts during the time of significant growth in their Utility and Midstream segments including the acquisition of a publically traded master limited partnership and structure that became ONEOK Partners.  Lamar’s extensive experience in finance, capital markets, risk management and company/asset valuation provides an excellent background for building EWS’s finance and accounting infrastructure.

 

Chuck Hanebuth

President

Chuck is a seasoned executive in the software and technology services space, with a 20 year track record of success in nearly every aspect of the industry. Chuck’s career experience covers the entire energy life cycle, and has particular focus on the natural gas industry. Chuck’s deep roots in custom software design and package implementation gives Energy Water Solutions a solid foundation for the systems necessary to construct and operate a global water network.

 

Stephen Shiner, PE

Executive Vice President, Engineering

Steve has over 30 years of progressive environmental engineering, project management and operations experience in the energy, solid waste, wastewater and specialty chemicals industries.  Steve has been the primary design engineer for wastewater treatment systems for areas as diverse as the Tar Sands in Alberta to a research station in Antarctica.  He has experience in hydraulic fracturing design and operations as District Engineer for a major service company, and has been principally involved in the treatment-for-reuse of produced water for the past six years.

Matthew Satnick

Director

Matthew Satnick is an investment professional at MSD Partners, L.P., an affiliate of MSD Capital, L.P., which was formed in 1998 to exclusively manage the capital of Michael Dell and his family.  MSD Partners utilizes a multi-disciplinary investment strategy focused on maximizing long-term capital appreciation by making investments across the globe in the equities of public and private companies, credit, real estate and other asset classes and securities.  Mr. Satnick’s areas of focus are in energy, with a specialization in the oilfield services sector, water, alternative energy and industrial cyclical businesses.  Prior to joining MSD Partners, Mr. Satnick was a principal with Odyssey Investment Partners, where he focused on leveraged buyouts of North American companies within the industrial and business services sectors.  Mr. Satnick started his career in the Restructuring Group of Lazard Freres and received a B.A. in Diplomatic History from the University of Pennsylvania.

 

Charles Tollinche

Director

Charles Tollinche joined MSD Capital, L.P. in 2007.  MSD Capital was established in 1998 to exclusively manage the capital of Michael Dell and his family. The firm utilizes a multi-disciplinary investment strategy focused on maximizing long-term capital appreciation by making investments across the globe in the equities of public and private companies, credit, real estate and other asset classes and securities.  Mr. Tollinche currently serves on the Board of Directors of DentalOne Partners, Inc. Mr. Tollinche was also involved in MSD Capital’s investments in OneWest Bank N.A. and National City Corporation.  Prior to joining MSD Capital, Mr. Tollinche was a Principal with Thoma Cressey Equity Partners, where he led investments in healthcare services companies.  Before Thoma Cressey, Mr. Tollinche was with Warburg Pincus LLC, where he was involved in the firm’s medical devices investments.  Mr. Tollinche received a B.A. in Economics from Harvard College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

 

Denny McGuire

Director

Dennis (“Denny”) McGuire is an entrepreneur and impact investor. In 1989 he co-founded TPI, an outsourcing advisory firm serving Global 1000 corporations seeking to improve their back office operations. For more than twenty years, he lead the firm’s development of new service offerings, global expansion and $170M+ revenue growth. In 2007, TPI was acquired and Denny expanded his focus to support non-profits’ appropriate use of business best practices, and impact investing. In addition to “for profit” investments, he has been or is significantly involved with: UMMEED, a Mumbai based organization serving children with developmental disabilities;  Star of Hope,  an organization dedicated to meeting the needs of homeless men, women and children in Houston; Child Legacy International, an organization developing holistic sustainable communities and water programs in Zimbabwe and Malawi; and Living Water International – an organization providing safe water in 23 countries of the world. He is the recipient of the IAOP Outsourcing Hall of Fame Award, Ernst & Young Houston Entrepreneur of the Year Award and the World Outsourcing Achievement Award. Denny received a B.S. from Illinois State University, was an Army officer, and previously worked for State Farm Insurance, Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and Andrews and Kurth, LLP.

 

Paul Thomas

Director

Paul Thomas a managing partner in Auxano Ventures, LLC a closed held family investment fund with diverse areas including oilfield waste disposal, water services and real estate.  Paul also serves as CEO of Luscinia Health, a healthcare company founded in partnership with his brother, Stephen, and father, Ed.  Paul is a member of the Gulf States Chapter of Young Presidents Organization.  Paul received his BS in electrical engineering from Rice University and an MBA from SMU.

 

Joseph G. Jacangelo, PhD

Consulting Director

Dr. Jacangelo is a Vice President and Director of Research for MWH Americas. He has served as Technical Director, Principal Investigator, Project Manager or Engineer for over 80 water and wastewater projects and published over 100 technical papers. He is a past Board Member, Chair of the Technical and Education Council and Member of Executive Committee for the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and has served as either chair or member of 26 of that organization’s various committees. He has participated on over 30 advisory or conference planning committees for various water and wastewater organizations. He is the past Chair of the Board of Directors for the WateReuse Research and is a member of the editorial advisory board for the Journal of Water Reuse and Desalination. Dr. Jacangelo is a past recipient of the AWWA Golden Spigot Award and the AWWA Best Paper Award in water quality for his work on low pressure membranes for removal of protozoa and viruses. Recently, he received that organization’s Volunteer of the Year of Award. Additionally, Dr. Jacangelo led an MWH team as Principal Investigator for a membrane research effort that received the Kenward S. Oliphant Memorial Award for Excellence in Engineering.
